Is it the best series I have ever read? No, not even close. It’s a simple story with a nice conclusion and a spin-off that provides closure for some minor characters from the main storyline. Overall, this series (although unfinished by me), is just ok. I was glad to see the characters chosen for this spin off as they were some of my favorites from the original two books. I thought some of the plot twists were predictable but, I liked the story so much more. However, despite my lukewarm feelings for Ever the Hunted, I read Ever the Brave on the same day. As the reader, I knew the full story and found their fighting and lying to be quite tiresome. I found that quite irritating since the story is told in alternating POV. The main characters often acted irrationally and tried to lie to each other to “protect” the other. I definitely had problems with the first book. I had nothing against it, but for some reason, I bought it, and never actually read it. But, after fully diving into bookstagram, I was convinced to finally pick it up.
